Pieces of Time

The cycle is a kind of metamorphosis of time. The use of one’s own face can be interpreted as a message of a contemporary memento mori. I cared about the appearance of a transient world and the destruction of the social – psychological man in the modern world. Portraits stop the stream of time as they strive to show individual faces. The work of the sculptor Ron Mueck was one of the sources of inspiration for this type of activity. Supernaturally realistic sculptures recreate the human body to the smallest detail and present each particularity on an enlarged scale with a deeply disturbing visual effect. That was exactly the effect I sought when I was working on the cycle. In addition, they have a very strong impact not only on the similarity, but also on the expression of experiences and a metaphor of human existence.
